    `62 Brake Bleeders

I am in the midst of flushing my brake lines on my `62. The front bleeders use a 3/8th wrench and the rear bleeders use a 5/16 wrench. Is this normal?

I had the same front and rear and I am pretty sure it was 3/8". I will confirm tomorrow.

      Gary--
Should be same size front and back---3/8" wrench fits them.

Thanks Mike. I wonder what the rear Cylinders are for?

One of the rear wheel cylinders should be p/n 5450649. The other should end in 48 or 50.

I would think that the bleeder screws would have the same thread, just a different hex size.

            Re: `62 Brake Bleeders Update

The closest info I could find using the Speed Bleeder Chart at http://www.speedbleeder.com/size.htm and http://www.speedbleeder.com/automobi....htm#Chevrolet
is that my rear with the 5/16 X 24 bleeders are for 65 - 82 Disc Brakes.

              Chris--
Both rear cylinders are 649. If you notice, each has two flats on it--on the left cylinde one of the flats is machined--on the right cylinder, the other is machined.

Thanks Mike, I had only one good picture of a rear cylinder and did not remember that there was only one casting number.
